He's doing nothing today. He did nothing last Sunday. If I was on his staff I would be foaming at the mouth and planning on what I was going to do after this lazy excuse for a candidate loses. It's stunning.

(6,262 posts)Maybe he won't utter another garbled sentence or allow his smirking mug shown in public.
Then be "sick" for debates and let Rove and Koch and vote suppression sneak him in.
He will be "managed" to a faretheewell from here to Nov.
Still won't work.

(12,041 posts)Aside from his interview with Stephenopolis I don't think I have seen him at all the last few days. I would not be so sure that his staff is upset that he is not out there however, his staff may very well have ordered him to stay away from the public because he doesn't seem able to get through a campaign event without any gaffes.

(40,168 posts)They see every day not campaigning as a wasted day.
When he was governor here in Massachusetts he was constantly out of state, doing anything but his job.
IF he is elected president, he is in for a big,fat rude awakening.

(40,168 posts)...as to how long it takes to wash, dry, and fold magic underwear for a family of seven?
jmowreader
(50,557 posts)Ann Romney's got four, repeat FOUR, washer-dryer pairs. Her washerwoman should be able to process 49 sets of magic underwear in just a few hours.

(13,776 posts)I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to win any more... why would someone as constantly yes-men-ed as he's been all his life voluntarily put himself through four years of constant criticism from the proletariat? And no way of forcing them to shut up? He'd melt.

(54 posts)It doesn't matter if one is Democrat or Republican. Being a presidential candidate must be utterly exhausting. You may be reading about all his rest and break time, but the election campaign is still a ruthless treadmill.

(50,557 posts)Upthread had it right, I think: the last thing Romney really wants to do is to win this shitty job. You have to live where they tell you, eat only what they let you, do only what they let you. It's like being in the Men in Black, but you don't get a neuralizer to make people forget the stupidity you just exhibited for them.
Romney would be much happier just going to California to his car elevator and horse dancing contests. I think he realizes that now.
