Isn't Mitt taking an awful lot of time off? Apparently he doesn't work weekends.

He's doing nothing today. He did nothing last Sunday. If I was on his staff I would be foaming at the mouth and planning on what I was going to do after this lazy excuse for a candidate loses. It's stunning.

Maybe he won't utter another garbled sentence or allow his smirking mug shown in public.

Then be "sick" for debates and let Rove and Koch and vote suppression sneak him in.

He will be "managed" to a faretheewell from here to Nov.

Still won't work.

Aside from his interview with Stephenopolis I don't think I have seen him at all the last few days. I would not be so sure that his staff is upset that he is not out there however, his staff may very well have ordered him to stay away from the public because he doesn't seem able to get through a campaign event without any gaffes.

They see every day not campaigning as a wasted day.

When he was governor here in Massachusetts he was constantly out of state, doing anything but his job.

IF he is elected president, he is in for a big,fat rude awakening.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to win any more... why would someone as constantly yes-men-ed as he's been all his life voluntarily put himself through four years of constant criticism from the proletariat? And no way of forcing them to shut up? He'd melt.

It doesn't matter if one is Democrat or Republican. Being a presidential candidate must be utterly exhausting. You may be reading about all his rest and break time, but the election campaign is still a ruthless treadmill.

One of several Romney campaign buses making the rounds in the USA made a stop on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant this week and drew a teeming crowd of “about 17?. Michigan Victory Communications Director Kelsey Knight said, “We’re here in an effort to splash how strong our grassroots efforts here in Michigan.”

Upthread had it right, I think: the last thing Romney really wants to do is to win this shitty job. You have to live where they tell you, eat only what they let you, do only what they let you. It's like being in the Men in Black, but you don't get a neuralizer to make people forget the stupidity you just exhibited for them.

Romney would be much happier just going to California to his car elevator and horse dancing contests. I think he realizes that now.
