Thank you to the concerned public for reaching out to us about a video involving a dog that was adopted from our rescue a few years ago. As of this evening, the owner has voluntarily surrendered the dog in question to our rescue while this matter is being addressed. Our mission remains the health and safety of our rescued dogs. The dog is now in our rescues care and he is safe and in good health. We will not be responding to any further inquiries about the situation, either publicly or privately. Thank you for your understanding.
Edit: A thread for those that are not aware what woman I am talking about. Cooper. Calling cops on a black man, ratcheting up the hysteria in a call to 911.

(15,899 posts)of a woman in Central Park who is walking her dog off leash. A man asks her to leash her dog and she goes ballistic on him. He's very calm and asks her to keep her distance. Instead of putting the dog on the leash and walking away, she yells at the guy and then calls the cops, insisting (in a fake terrified voice) that she is being attacked by an African American man. I'm glad she has been outed and that they dog rescue took the animal away from her.

(15,899 posts)And her treatment of that puppy made me sick!!!
As I said, all she had to do was put the dog on leash and leave.

(15,899 posts)Almost more disturbing than the way she treated the man (I'm being attacked by an African American man!), was the way she treated the poor dog. It was shrieking and squealing. Poor baby. I'm so glad that the rescue took the dog back.

(22,922 posts)the way she was practically sobbing if i was the 911 operator i would be telling the squad car that this woman was maybe seconds away from being murdered. i wouldn't have been surprised to see them pull up, and if the man reached for his phone to explain, he could have been shot to death if they thought it was a gun.
hopefully she is prosecuted and punished, and that adorable little dog finds a loving home.

(15,694 posts)The rescue is to be commended for taking possession of the dog. Sadly, there are some Rescues out there that will not take back a dog or cat if they adopt them out.
I am glad the dog is now safe.
