No, you fucking moron. It wasn't racist, it was incompetence. We knew about this virus in November. Of last year. A travel ban should have been enacted THEN. Over 400,000 people got processed at LAX and SFO coming from China between December 31st and February 6th, the first noted date of the first COVID death - which was well before the March 6th death. And who knows where those people were coming from. Waiting until March, it was too late to do anything about it. In that length of time, Trump rallied, golfed, went to expensive fundraisers, and called it a hoax. So by the time the stay at home orders got enacted it was too late to do anything about it. So go shove your racist claims up your ass, asshole.

You are absolutely correct that Trump disregarded the advice of experts and treated the situation as a political issue rather than the serious health crisis that it is. HOWEVER, the ban on travel from China was inspired by and instigated to stoke xenophobia. He started calling it the China Virus to deflect from his botched response and direct anger toward China.
