What real leaders look like in tough times.

I will not repost that picture of a smiling & smirking Mitt Romney but here is
a picture of President Obama, Sec. of State Clinton, and State Department employees
yesterday after the news that they just lost 4 friends and co-workers.

1. The President looks tired. Which indeed is what a real leader looks like in tough times.

He also looks human. He and Hillary have very similar expressions here. I'm proud of them both.

I am sure she was crying in private ..... here it looks like she is fighting back tears.

I don't think any real American should ever say Mitt's name again ..... he really has no
shame or feelings to smile @ time like this. I wonder if DU can start a campaign that
asks everybody to not say R*****'s name again?

I know that he just lost 10s of thousands of votes yesterday and I expect
that he and his campaign will try to "walk back" what he did but it will be just
about impossible to do so. Every member of the State Department along w/
their families and the marines who are posted to our embassies around the
world will now vote against R*****.

Because he's more like one.
I could also go for Ratfeces, because that's what his opinions remind me of.

It's been a long almost 4 years for both of them and then 2 years of campaigning before that. I'm sure Hillary would like to start a foundation similar to her husbands, but instead focus on women's issues around the world. She has long supported that cause.

President Obama has 4 more long years ahead before hanging up his coat.

last night in Las Vegas. He did look tired and sounded tired too. He probably got barely any sleep the night before, I would guess.

UC Berkeley mourns the loss of ambassador and alumnus J. Christopher Stevens

http://newscenter.berkeley.edu/2012/09/12/uc-berkeley-mourns-the-loss-of-graduate-j-christopher-stevens/

BERKELEY —

In response to the death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens, a UC Berkeley graduate in history, Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau issued the following statement Wednesday morning:

Today, the University of California, Berkeley, mourns the loss of alumnus J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Ambassador to Libya, who perished in yesterday’s shameful attack on the U. S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

After studying history at UC Berkeley, Chris, like so many of our graduates, joined the Peace Corps, which took him to Morocco in the early 1980s. This experience sparked in him an abiding interest in and passion for the Middle East, leading eventually to his successful career in the Foreign Service and postings in several Middle Eastern countries.

He played a key role in supporting the Libyan revolution and was a champion for the country’s emerging democracy. His life epitomized the best of UC Berkeley’s graduates, a commitment to excellence at the highest level and a passion for making the world a better and more peaceful place.

On behalf of our campus community, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues and friends. His family includes another UC Berkeley graduate, his father, Jan S. Stevens, who earned his political science and law degrees here in the 1950s. They are in our thoughts and prayers, as are those who also lost their lives in service to our nation in this terrible assault on our consulate.

His greatest strength and his greatest weakness... he cares about the WHOLE country and wants to see it WHOLE again.

He TRIED to continue bi-partisan work as he'd done in the Senate and the rethugs turned obstructionist on him.

But there is NO DOUBT who actually cares about Americans in this situation and it isn't ROBME.

Let us not forget that this crisis was brought on by the hate-speech anti-Islam movie produced by a hard-liner Christian zealot.

Sad, interesting and another example of the sickness of these christofascists trying to take over the country.

I'm proud to be a Democrat too, and proud of our leaders.
