I would bet a dollar to a donut that he has talked with her in private.

He has persuaded her to tell the people that "under perfect conditions", we could expect 100,000 - 200,000 dead from this epidemic.

He must always create a narrative where no matter what happens, it is not his fault. This is his "alternative reality".

We know already that he is going to claim a great victory over this battle with the coronavirus.

Even if "only" a million people die, he will say that the experts predicted 2.2 million might die in the pandemic.

No matter what the number might be, he will be able to convince his cult of supporters that it is a great victory. It is already written in the cards for him.

The reality is something else.

That is the dilemma facing the American people.

He's in charge of nothing at this point. He's a mouthpiece for people behind the scenes scrambling to contain the fall out.
They let him trot out there to rally the base & hope to have a ground zero moment.
