Another pillar of the RW "free market" business model
First before I make my point, its such a joke that all these rethugs types are immediately lined up begging for government handouts. Socialism for corporations?
But what I was thinking about is the jobs impacts we are just starting to see. Anyone who has worked for a large concern has seen how management is always trying to minimize the numbers of actual workers, the ones who build things, clean, serve, perform actual work. You know, force x distance is the scientific definition of work. All those managers and pencil pushers dont do actual work and yet they are usually the highest paid. And their primary function is to accomplish the mission with the minimum amount of workers. So anyway, what I see happen is so many organizations run at a bare bones level. So when something like this pandemic or anything really unforeseen happens, there is no excess capacity so they are immediately in trouble. Especially skilled kinds of labor. You cant just go out and hire a bunch of whatever kind of specialist is needed.
So while there will be many job losses there will also be desperate need for certain types of workers. Right away itll be medical personnel but the list will be growing.
