I have to ask this question here, because i DO NOT understand how elections work!

1. Do you mean primaries or the GE?

Under the Constitution, states control their own election procedures, so a state could, and occasionally does, change the date of a primary. As to the GE, the Constitution gives Congress the power to set an election day, which has to be the same for the entire country.

States can control their own election procedures but the GE has to be held on the same day everywhere. So a state couldn't change the date.

I'm just asking if they COULD do something to postpone their election? I'm NOT saying they will. I'm just asking IF it's at all possible they COULD do something like this?

and that date has to be the same for all states.
