I wish I could write something more uplifting and profound

I am truly concerned about this election. I didn't like the policies of Trump's Republican predecessors but I was never afraid they would shred the Constitution and govern like a mob boss. It's amazing how much we have sunk in a scant three years. We are looking into the abyss.

If Trump wins re-election it will be as if George B. McClellan won the election of 1864. Goodbye America.

Just think about what they promote and encourage....

The worst degree of income inequality in the developed world.

Abolishment of basic human rights for women, the poor, minorities, and refugees

Destruction of our precious planet Earth so billionaires can enrich themselves even more

Takeover of public schools by religion

Health care only if you can afford it.

Strangling funds for scientific research

Funneling huge sums of money into the military and war weapons

Censoring the free press

If the GOP rules over us for another 4 years, I firmly believe we will sink into a modern day Dark Ages here. My husband says I am being overly dramatic when I say that. Maybe he’s right. But I can’t help but feel this way. I try not to dwell on it and get myself too depressed and carry on with life and family. But I have 3 young adult sons and I fear for what kind of country we’re going to leave to them.

Sorry I cannot be more optimistic. I am telling everyone I know to get out and vote blue this November....

"Wakeup Everybody" by Harold and the Blue Notes. It may be a soul song from the sixties, but it's appropriate for these times.

Sorry I don't have the time or know how right now to post a link to the song.

Democrats are forgetting who their actual opponent really is, fumbling all over the place (IA). And there are still too many of them on the debate stage.

MEANWHILE, Trump has been campaigning on the taxpayer dime for THREE + years (he declared himself a 2020 candidate on inauguration day 2017 so he could). His base is solidified behind him.

Democrats? Fighting each other instead of him. Bumbled the hell out of Iowa making them an absolute laughing stock. The debates don't render a clear leader or viable opponent for Trump.

Economy is good - Trump claims credit but he inherited that from Obama.

Trump has beaucoup more money than all Democrats combined

He's an incumbent - that's an advantage.

He's been campaigning for three+ years (in fact that's about all he's been doing) - WE have been paying for it. Democrats JUST. STARTED.

The Russian-style Trump disinformation/social media manipulation machinery is massive. Democrats have NO equivalent.

Snowballs don't survive Hell and I'm not at all confident Democrats or the United States of America as we've all known it all our lives - will survive this. In fact I'm pretty sure it won't. We won't.

Then, kiss your plans for social security or Medicare goodbye. Nobody's going to have that after 2020. Retirement will once again mean economic devastation and destitution. YET -- MAGAts will vote for this! That's what they're doing when they vote for Trump. They're fully willing to economically DEVASTATE the entire nation to ensure that no "brown people" or "other people" (ie: non-white, non-heterosexual, non-male) have any opportunities in this country economic or otherwise.

The ONLY concern I have (agree with T. Steyer that ANY Dem candidate's healthcare plan will be better than Trump's and the GOP's and that can not be our focus, sadly), is who can KICK. TRUMP'S. ASS. on the debate stage and in the media including social media?

Who? Because I don't see anybody. Bloomberg? Well. If he's the nominee, I'll vote for him. If it's Sanders, we're fucked. The 'Socialism' epithet and all the bad stuff from his past will be trotted out 24 x 7 everywhere, along with "Crazy Bernie". I like Sanders and his ideas, ideals and policies. BUT - I also KNOW what will happen to him if he's the nominee. No doubt. Not one iota.

So...I don't know. I have Biden as my favorite...but I'm not sure even Bulldog Joe can well enough kick Trump's ass.

We're fucked.
