What are our realistic chances to take him out?

1. Very real. Many Republicans hate his guts here for pushing through toll lanes

on I77. He set up the legislation in the General Assembly that laid the foundation for the toll lanes. It’s the real reason Pat McCrory lost the governorship, too, in 2016. The folks around Lake Norman area call him Thom Tollus.

And N.C. has become bluer since 2014.

4. basketball helped kill McCrory too

losing the NCAA championship round in Greensboro was a huge blow.

2. I think we are at least at 50/50

We have a good candidate (Cal Cunningham), we have a popular governor running for reelection against what will be a far right loon, and if we have a presidential candidate who can at least keep this competitive we should be in good shape for this to be like 2008 when we won the governor's race by a fairly close margin, a senate seat by a huge margin, and Obama carried the state by a very narrow margin.
