(14,552 posts)I think their ruling that stopped counting votes, denied people of their voting rights.

(2,276 posts)Supreme Court ruled to stop counting the votes in Florida, thereby appointing W as President. It was later determined that Gore won more votes, and if the counting had been allowed to continue, Gore would have been the duly elected President.

snip--"MIAMI, July 20 - John G. Roberts advised Gov. Jeb Bush during Florida's presidential recount in 2000, even traveling to Tallahassee from Washington to help him navigate those frenzied 36 days."
snip--" Judge Roberts, nominated by President Bush on Tuesday to succeed Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court, provided such quiet counsel that his name did not register in news media accounts during the recount. On Wednesday, Governor Bush's press secretary said that Judge Roberts "came to Florida in 2000 at his own expense and met with Governor Bush to share what he believed the governor's responsibilities were under federal law after a presidential election and a presidential election under dispute."

(15,190 posts)He didn't stop Senators from leaving the floor, which they were not supposed to do. He didn't stop them from talking. He didn't stop The White House lawyers from LYING. He was just tacky window dressing IMHO.

And having 2 out of 9 Supreme Court judges on his court to have credible witnesses claim sexual improprieties...
And having watered down many of the peoples hard fought court battles...
Roberts will go down as one of the worst Justices in our history.
