Watching Rudy Giuliani, the once well-respected SDNY prosecutor and NYC mayor, behaving like a mad buffoon on TV promoting Russian-concocted conspiracy theories
Watching Alan Dershowitz, the once well-respected lawyer and legal scholar, claiming that a president can do whatever he wants to be re-elected if he thinks his re-election is in the best interests of the country
is absolutely mind-boggling.
I cant even imagine what kind of kompramat would be so explosive if exposed, it would lead people like Giuliani and Dershowitz to un-do their previously-earned legacies and end their careers as laughing-stocks.
And when it comes to people once held in high regard who have made fools of themselves in order to protect, defend, and enable this IMPOTUS, Giuliani and Dershowitz are not alone.
It reminds me of the title of Rick Wilsons book, Everything Trump Touches Dies.
At the time the book was released, I thought it an odd title. I now appreciate just how succinct and to-the-point it is.

(10,030 posts)What can Dershowitz and Giuliani possibly hope to gain by their current behavior? Maybe it's some sort of desperate late in life 'last hurrah' on the part of two men addicted to attention. Whatever it is, these two men are certainly losing friends and comrades as well as their reputations.
Trump was always a jerk. He has only power to lose. But as you point out, Giuliani and Dershowitz are destroying their extraordinary legacies in exchange for?
