1. Trump gets to mount a defense.

Calling Hunter Biden as a hostile witness would be very useful to them.

They would utilize the BS they got from Viktor Shokin. They would hit Biden with a hundred "were you aware ofs" until he says one thing they can seize on to legitimize Trump's "corruption" concerns.

They'll also assail his appointment to the board as nepotism.

If you want Bolton, you are going to have to give something. A quid pro quo, if you will.

Could the senate Republicans subpoena any of us and proceed with character assassination by forcing us to answer "questions" about why we beat our wives, respond to an anonymous accusation that we steal from the coffee fund at work, and explain why "many people" suspect we still kick puppies when no one's looking?
