Why would he do that? Putin isn’t doing what he does because he likes Trump. He’s using Trump to destroy the United States as a Superpower.
I’m sure he sits on Trumps shoulders whispering into his ear, spinning images of Trump’s deepest desires come true, but he does it because he’s laying traps to seductively pull Trump into doing whatever it takes to destroy the US. He does not love Trump nor does he wish him well. He is only using him because he knows the only way to destroy us is from within.
The Republicans are blind to this too. They see Putin as the enemy of the Democrats, therefore the friend of the Republicans. And that’s because Democrats love Democracy and Republicans love Capitalism. Capitalism is the all American promise of wealth which has paid off spectacularly for them. Nothing could be more American than that in Republican eyes.
The factor the Republicans aren’t seeing or understanding is the ulterior motives of Putin. Or if they do understand it they’re simply not worried about it because they know, in their delusion, that the USA simply can’t be destroyed. Capitalism is just too big to fail.
