Do all those old white Republicans treat their pets better than their fellow man?

Just thinking.

Those right-leaning, judgmental voters who can't wait to make more children hungry, more grandmas on the streets, more disabled without health care, etc.

Do they think their pets deserve better lives and better futures than their fellow humans and neighbors should have?

Obviously, Mitt is an aberration with his *dog problem*.

But most of the rest of these people pamper their pets to the extreme.

The bottom line: they must believe that neighbors and other humans are of less value/importance/worthy than animals.

Keeps his dog chained to a doghouse, that looks to be too small to turn around in,even though the yard is fenced.....The only attention I ever see this poor animal get,is when shit for brains comes out to shreik and scream at it to shut up......This turd isn't just a shitbagger,he's also a Christian, according to all the bumper stickers on his Japanese import....

When I was in college, I once lived in a house that had been converted into three apartments for students. The owner lived in a house next door. He bought a Black Lab puppy and kept it in the basement for most of its young life. I could hear it crying and whining and once complained to him about it. He ignored me.

When it got too big for the basement, he put it in one of those "dog runs" in his backyard. Like this one:

I never saw it out. Consequently, it became one mean dog. Whenever I ventured out into the backyard of my apartment house, the dog would snarl and growl at me from next door.

Oh, and his family had a cat that had a litter so there were kittens running about. No problem with that (I like cats) except one developed an infection in one eye; I could see puss oozing from it. I told him about it. He didn't seem concerned and a couple of weeks later I saw the kitten...with its eye missing. I never saw it after that.

I moved out into another apartment...

Not politically focused - but with a political forum in it - I (let me paraphrase here so as to not break the TOS of that site) actually READ this morning that in an answer/response to the problem of poverty in her 'home state of Texas' - a woman likes the idea of forced sterilization for the poor.

When I pointed out to her that starting in 1927 with a SCOTUS ruling saying it's aok - it's already been done - in 33 states - to about 65K people -

Her only concern was the cost of implementation.

Not sure how this is coming across - but in answer to your question - they DO believe their pets are more worthy and valuable than a hungry American child who happened to be born to parents who were financially poor.

I would ask her how her beliefs are any different from those of Middle Eastern extremists.

She skeeves me out. Unfortunately I'm a moderator there so I can't put her on ignore. But another member or two there that also discovered DU (the three of us our friends IRL as a result of this site) - we have a LOT of fun messing with her in the Political Forum.

Us big baaaaaaaaaaaaaad liberals/progressives who don't respect her "Solid American Values". Right lady - you are witch and sooner or later that evil heart is going to catch up to you - just like it did Eva Braun.

Pssssst - thanks for letting me vent here.

I have talked to some who infuriated me because they wanted equal rights for animals but didn't believe all humans should have access to health care.

(or parent, for that matter)..? I think therein lies our answer. They would be a burden to her which if forced might very grudgingly accept, but likely ignore.

Anyone who would do to his pet as this man did does not deserve a moment of good will from me in any way, shape or form. I'd rather piss on his grave as to shake his hand.
I hope I'm not being too far out there with that last line and if I am let me know so I can delete it.
Peace

My old boss would let his attack dog loose out of his sight, it would promptly attack somebody else's dog, then he'd blame the other owner.

They also don't seem to believe in keeping their dogs on-leash in leashed areas.

Today when I was walking to lunch a Freeper-type (you could tell from the vehicle) let his dog loose and it came running over to me, fortunately to be petted, but what if I was afraid of dogs or didn't want my dog to catch whatever his dog might be carrying such as kennel cough.
