awoke_in_2003
(34,582 posts)I think Americans were sick of republicans. The problem is, too many have a short memory. And I stand by the stupid comment- far too many are ill-informed and lack intellectual curiosity. How do you think these asshats keep getting elected?
whathehell
(29,621 posts)When Americans do something "smart", you won't credit them,
when they do something "stupid", they get ALL the blame.
Sounds "fair and balanced" to me.
By the way, if you want to shit on Americans...Shit on YOURSELF
and YOUR family and friends. That is, of course, if you really ARE an American, instead of "playing" one
on this board to CYA for insults...As to "how the asshats" keep getting elected, what "asshat", singular,
are you speaking of?...The last "asshat" was ONE George W. Bush who was not only
NOT elected, but "selected" the first time, and likely STOLE the election the second.
THIS American isn't "stupid", and neither are the vast majority on this and other boards.
Take your bigotry somewhere else.
awoke_in_2003
(34,582 posts)and a good portion of the senate. Like it or not, 40% of Americans vote for republican douchebags just because they are republican. That is stupid. If you don't want to hear me say it, put me on fucking ignore. Unless you are stupid and voting for those people, I am not insulting you.
whathehell
(29,621 posts)after you've been exposed as bigoted and wrong on the facts.
After all, even if your latest assertion IS true, forty percent still does not equal
"Americans", generally. It's a large minority, but a minority, just the same, unless, of course, you're
too stupid to do the calculation.
I'd suggest you take your phoney "American" self elsewhere, or put me on ignore.
awoke_in_2003
(34,582 posts)"too many Americans have a short memory", and in the second I said 40% will vote republican no matter what. If you want to take that as in insult to all Americans, including you, that is your fucking problem.
whathehell
(29,621 posts)and you know it.
Your first post said "Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people"
Period.
In your second post, you were actually clueless enough to double down with the broad brush smear,
while at the same time revealing it to be a MINORITY of Americans.".
Hint: Forty percent equals "'Some' of the American people'', maybe even "The Republican American people",
not "The American people" as in "all" of them...Get the distinction?
So the next time want to insult and denigrate an entire nation, try trading in
that stupid, sloppy Broad Brush for something smaller, but infinitely
more respectable called "accuracy". Your eagerness to avoid it has been "your fucking problem".

(23,156 posts)since I work until 8pm mountain time, but I did get to see where she said her daughters are her heart.
How is it that Michelle Obama can say that, and I know how much she means it, but with Ann Romney, there's a coldness when she talks about her family. I certainly do not want to suggest that Mrs. Romney loves her children any less than does Mrs. Obama, but the difference in how they come across is amazing.
Maybe it is as simple as who is actually raising the children.

(14 posts)I thought it was an awesome night. I cringed a couple of times during a couple of the speeches because I felt like they stretched the truth a little bit, and I was really hoping that all the Dems would be super careful to only state verifiable facts - after all the lying ruckus from last week. ( and I see this morning that the fact checkers are indeed working overtime to try to make it look like the dems lie, too) But overall, I thought they all brought down the house. Tammy Duckworth, hello! While watching Deval Patrick, I was reminded of a little speech given some time ago by some unknown named Obama that propelled him into the White House. And then Julian Castro spoke, and I thought - this party is in good hands for the next several decades! And Michelle.....well my goodness.....I'm so proud.
I can't wait for Elizabeth Warren and the Big Dog tonight!

(280 posts)If you come across any Republican spouting the lies that Obama has failed to unite, you show them these things. You ask them how the American Taliban of GOP Lawmakers thought it would be better to block the business of the American people because they didn't like the President. Bookmark this thread and remember it. Then use it to remind people why this election is just as important as 2008.

(26,508 posts)...but don't know how many watching this aren't already Obama voters.
This will certainly generate an enthusiasm boost, but not so sure about a polling boost. I think the years of massive convention bumps ended when the conventions stopped being carried live on all the networks.
