I keep wondering what it is they're TRULY angry about

Are they really angry that the Democrats are pursuing the investigation?

Are they really angry about the process in which the Democrats are employing throughout the investigation?

There's a tiny bit of hope in my heart that their anger is simply misdirected, because I would sincerely hope that what they are truly angry about is that the president keeps doing nasty, inappropriate, and illegal things that keep turning up in the investigation.

1. They see *us* as the ENEMY, not the foreign governments.

They have been fighting a war with *us* since before Obama, but the last duly elected president representing a clean majority has darker skin than they like, **ANYTHING** Twitler does is ok, because they "had to put up with" President Obama.

...and they are kept stirred up - as many people are - by a continuous stream of outrages on social media designed merely to keep them angry.

And not angry about anything in particular. Simply angry. Getting people angry is itself the point.

have not turned out as they planned or hoped and are looking for something and someone to blame for their problems instead of looking inward to adjust and overcome their problems.

Others, many of whom are my relatives and childhood friends, are angry that the world is no longer the way it was during some idealized time in their lives (when they were children..when they were in high school..when they got their first jobs). They can’t or won’t adjust to the changing world so are angry at anything that represents change.

they have been indoctrinated by right-wing media to blame anyone other than those really at the root of the problem. Republican policy for the past 40+ years has been the cause of the majority of economic downturn of the middle class, but the talking heads have successfully diverted attention to scapegoats, playing on the inherent bigotry of those without critical thinking skills.

Clinton got impeached because of a consensual BJ, while Trump sexually assaulted approx. 25 women, is a seral adulterer, and keeps a daily impeachable offense agenda. His cages have caused multiple child deaths and we're not done yet.

He openly and loudly asks for illegal help from foreign countries, still has all his business interests, and has loaded his West Wing with non-qualified offspring.

Trump violates his Oath of Office by the hour and the "Party First" (Screw America!) Republicans have their collective heads up a certain orifice. They even blocked a highly qualified Supreme Court nominee because we had a black president.

The whole GOP should be impeached/censured, then tried and convicted of treason.

9. At the root of all the manufactured outrage is the realization America is changing demographically

The folks they represent feel extremely threatened by such changes, believing they're "losing their country" and are no longer at the top rung on the social and economic ladder. The Republican party has no other choice but to stoke these fears to remain in power. After all, they can't run on what they really stand for: safeguarding the economic interests of the 1%.

They’re still absolutely besides themselves that a black man dared to be POTUS. MAGA is a dog whistle - “great again” before we allowed those uppity minorities and women any power.

12. They WANT to be angry. They don't care what it's about, they have to have it.

It's the fix, the buzz, the hit.

It's what makes their sad little lives worth living - that energized, self-righteous fizz, all painted up in red, white and blue, available now 24/7 online, on cable, on radio, on TV, on their phones.

The Trumpanzees are so many dogs, drooling at the sound of the bell rung by their masters.

And it's been amplified 100x in the social media era. Where there used to be an off switch from seeing how fucked up the world is, now there is no off switch. So people can be angry jerks 24 hours a day and say anything they want. It's not misdirected anger - it's intentional anger.
