I wonder why Lindsey is stepping down from the Judiciary Chairmanship??

Maybe his BFF Donald is promising him a nifty new position - in the CABINET!

It would be even better if he resigned from the Senate!

He's not stepping down. He has to relinquish the position at the start of the next term.

But, whatevs.

He only just took the Chairmanship from Chucky last year. And the report is that Grassley will take the position back after Lindsay.

I guess it would behoove me to learn more about Senate rules!

Thanks for the info.

This is a horribly-written article with an even worse headline, but the maneuvering is about swapping seats to avoid term limits:

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/31/graham-judiciary-chairmanship-grassley-062993

Graham took over the panel this year from Grassley, who left to chair the Senate Finance Committee.

In an interview Thursday, Graham said Grassley asked to come back after his tenure on the Senate Finance Committee. Graham responded “absolutely.”

“Love Chuck Grassley. That’s the way the Senate works,” Graham said. “He took the Finance Committee so I could be chairman, and he’ll come back and fill out his time, and I’ll come back, and somebody else will come along.”

Senate Republicans allow their members to chair a committee for six years in total, regularly leading to rounds of musical chairs as senators face committee term limits.

in the next congress.. of course it depends on keeping the senate in 2020...GOTV,,,

Lindsey Graham will give Judiciary chairmanship back to Chuck Grassley
Senate Republicans will go through another game of musical chairs in the next Congress.

Grassley left as Justice Chair to chair Finance, but Grassley wants his old chair job back next term. (If the GOP maintains control)

I don't know why he's annoucing this now.
