Flags flown on poles affixed to a home or building are not to be flown at half staff but ...

I did not know this. It's impractical to "lower" the flag that's mounted to our home, and I always felt a little guilty when I couldn't lower it. I'll have to order one of these.

Flags flown on poles affixed to a home or building are not to be flown at half staff but a memorial streamer can be affixed to the top of the flagpole to signify half staff.

our flag holder has a 'lower' position it. it is wall mounted on house. I have always used that position for half staff. I'll need ot research now and see if I am making a mistake. thanks for the info, then to the store to get a memorial streamer.

I'm still searching... trying to find out if this is LEGIT, or just an invented trend/fad (made up by flagmakers) so that they can profit by selling black streamers?
