The double standards are just outrageous... 2019 is sooo 1919 - women just had the vote, no representation within the election system and men owned them...
Of course the right wing man has always loved a good 'witch' hunt
Puritans dont laughexcept at the sight of a burning witch. John Derbyshire The religious right theocratic roots run deep with this crowd - it how they lever control and power... it has always been ever thus.

Nobody accused Al Franken of being forced out by patriarchy for doing the same, stupid thing.

Im not 100% on each of these scenarios but my understanding is that theyre not the same thing; or was Franken accused of sexual relations with a staffer or campaign worker?

(7,113 posts)...did she have a relationship with a campaign subordinate or did she hire someone she was having a relationship with to work on her campaign?
I would think the latter would be less of an ethics issue, since candidates commonly hire friends, spouses, relatives, etc. to work on their campaign.

(7,113 posts)plain old unfairness.
It's a bloody rotten shame, too. Whenever Rep. Hill appeared on TV talking about the issues, she was a great spokesperson for liberal policies. She won her formerly GOP district by 9 points and would have had a bright future in politics if not for her total A-hole of a soon-to-be ex-husband.
Just wished she had decided to weather the storm and stick it out.
