I've encountered a few in recent months. I disagree with them on nearly everything, but they're principled and willing to discuss facts. And they're all aghast at the abomination in charge of their party.
Most no longer actually identify as Republicans. To them, the term is almost a pejorative. And I actually suspect that's why Trump keeps seeing such high approval ratings from Republicans; eventually, Republicans who don't approve of him start calling themselves independents.

(58,822 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
