Pa.'s State Bird In Danger Of Leaving State Due To Climate Change

The Ruffed Grouse, Pennsylvania’s state bird since 1931, is in danger of leaving the Keystone state due to climate change.

The Ruffed Grouse is expected to search for a cooler climate if that’s the case since it prefers cooler, even severe, winters.

the Ruffed Grouse is under pressure in States where the Hard Woods have been depleted. Again, the Hard wood Trees are having a rough time replenishing on a natural cycle due to the change in Average Temps.

They also appear to not be as healthy as I remember them during the summers of my childhood, their current summer foliage is weak looking and they have a lot of dead small branches in them.

seems to be a major issue nation wide. Noticed when watching video of Tornado and Hurricane damage, the Older Oaks and some Maples seem to be all heart rotted out.

One of my brothers had several oak falls on his farm, all had rot at their cores. Just enough wind force hit them to bring them down. I am actually nervous when I drive under oaks or park my vehicle in the falling path of one.
