Just now, @senatemajldr confirms he WILL hold a trial in the senate if House sends over impeachment articles. Says senate will sit for 6 days/week, senators arent allowed to speak (good therapy for some, he jokes). Senate will follow its constitutional duties.

(590 posts)This is the Repugs best approach politically. If they try to restrict the presentation of the evidence, the public will disapprove. So they'll pretend to look at all the evidence open-mindedly before they vote not to convict.
They'll admit that Trump did something wrong, but they'll say that it's not bad enough to warrant removing him from office.
