He’s traveling the world on behalf of the MF and the MF is notorious for not paying for service other than sex...then we hear that the Ghoul is working pro-bono...then he says he is working at the behest of the state department. What is true?

Of course he's being paid-- somehow. But, it can't show up anywhere, or she'll get a chunk of it.
If someone can just figure out how, disbarment, if not jail, is in his future.
