I wake up, and go straight to DU hoping to see the post, "Trump has resigned".....
Every.single.morning.
I hate him worse than I hated Nixon. Far worse. He needs to go.

(18,101 posts)I don't harbor hatred, or fret over things that I can't control.
I wish you peace of mind.

(32,675 posts)I try to keep my emotions in check also. Seems like a good way to deal with all situations. If I rely on emotions, I may miss an important point. I don't want to be filled with hate either.

(8,445 posts)I don't like to harbor hate because of the harm it does to my own well-being, but I'm having a very hard time because of the costs that my children and grandchildren are going to have to pay. It's a "mama bear" thing, I suppose.

(47,428 posts)but this man has brought out feelings in me that I cannot repress. It is hard to be calm and carry on when we witness him daily destroying everything we hold dear.
It is exhausting being outraged each day, but I am also afraid of getting used to all this as the new normal. For the sake of the future and the world we live in, we are right to be outraged and suffer the exhaustion. Tyrants flourish and prosper when we become complacent. What we experiencing is not meant to be comfortable.
Meanwhile for my sanity, I take a lot of breaks from the news, but I manage to stay tuned into what is happening on a daily basis.

(1,207 posts)"the old days" on DU. I haven't been on since President Obama was elected- but I was here under a long forgotten name and password that I just couldn't remember.
Trust me, you may not call it "hate," but I sure do remember some of your scorching posts back in the day.
pintobean

I wasn't thinking anything "bad," I just remember you with a lot of other long time DUers that I am seeing again.

You can't even remember your own user name.
essme
(1,207 posts)Do remember my own name.
I think others here might not. Apparently including you.
I have forgotten my near 15 year or more password. I am old, not senile. And I do indeed remember your name.

(184 posts)I have spent my life believing that it would be wrong to sink to the same level as the GOP. I believed the 'when they go low we go high' attitude before it was a meme. I believed that good would triumph and rising above the cheap tricks of the right was better for me and the country.
I was wrong. The GOP has just continued to sink lower and lower. Embracing what is right and doing the right thing has gotten us nowhere in the past 40 years. My children's generation has got it right. They are doing a better job standing up for what is right in the past few years than their parents did. David Hogg and others have chosen to emulate their grandparents and great grandparents; they ARE angry. They give me hope. Anger is NOT the problem. Compliancy is.

(51,590 posts)I want to see him punished and to suffer for what he has done to innocent people and to the country and entire planet. Decades of harm to "undo" deserves a severe, harsh punishment. McConnell should get the same. I wish they both would drop dead, just to end this harm to the country faster but I prefer slow suffering for the rest of their lives as well as those who enable him.

Im just checking in.

(1,207 posts)If I "hated" this country, I would want that jackass to live a long healthy life.
Don't be so silly. If we all did not "hate" this damned conservative crap, we wouldn't be sitting here reading DU.
Quit reading so much into this.

(9,426 posts)humanity. McConnell is vowing to block impeachment, so he is as bad. Party before country is the gop motto, no matter how bad their "leader" is. It looks as though they took a vow. Once an (R) is in the WH, they will keep them there, through thick and thin. Who ever thought anyone could screw up THIS badly? I guess he is the best they could do, since intelligence is scarce in the gop ranks.
Rorey
(8,445 posts)He has made it clear that "party above country" is his primary belief. He's vowed that 45 will not be convicted in the Senate without even knowing all of the evidence.
If I was called for jury duty and made a statement like that, I'd be excluded from the jury. McConnell is an even bigger POS than 45, IMO.

(63,209 posts)I want it to be sudden, so that there's no ushering him off camera, where they can create a heroic story about his demise.
I want it to be embarrassing, like having him piss, shit, and vomit all over himself in full view of millions.
I want it to be unequivocally a result of his disgusting lifestyle. Otherwise his handlers and cultists are guaranteed to create a story in which he labored courageously while in the throes of his secret illness (they'll even cite David Bowie, working until mere days before his death by his undisclosed cancer).
On the other hand, there's a very (make that a VERY) good chance that they'll claim that he was poisoned by some Leftwing agent or group, perhaps Pelosi herself, entirely without facts or evidence, but his cult of idiot racist fuckheads will believe it as sacrosanct gospel until the last one of those stupid pieces of shit has died.

When he was asked by the vendor why he does that, the man replied he was checking to see if someone died. The vendor explained the obituaries are in the back section of the newspaper.
The man said "When this sonofabitch dies, it will be on the front page!"

If you dont watch, the show is about a family that control a Fox like media empire. The founder played by Brian Cox is Obviously Rupert Murdoch and his four kids who scheme to take over the company when the father steps down. On HBO.

It will serve you much better than following every day to day detail and listening to all the frantic conclusions and adjustments.
People who post here are the type who follow every development. Consequently they will ace any current events quiz but always overreact toward where today's news will lead, and tomorrow's news will lead, and where last Thursday's news was going to lead.
