One way to do that is to “come unglued”, to rant in a rage which makes people fear them because of the uncertainty of what they will do with the power they have.

So throwing giant fits is a power control tactic to make people fear for their own lives and well-being. A dictator’s wrath is a very real thing.

There is no doubt that if Trump could he would be having whole groups arrested and executed right now. Groups like journalists, women’s empowerment organizations like Family Planning, racial empowerment groups like the NAACP or any group he perceives might oppose him.
