Eugene Scalia, who was confirmed today by a Senate vote of 53 to 44, is a partner at the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher specializing in labor and employment issues, and the son of the late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia. In July, Donald Trump announced Scalia as his pick to replace Alexander Acosta, who resigned from the post that month over his handling of a plea deal given to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Senate Democrats opposed Scalias nomination because of the lawyers history defending clients like Walmart and UPS in cases involving issues such as employee healthcare and accommodations for workers with disabilities. President Trump has again chosen someone who has proven to put corporate interests over those of worker rights, New York senator Charles Schumer told the New York Times. Workers and union members who believed candidate Trump when he campaigned as pro-worker should feel betrayed. Senator Patty Murray of Washington said in a July statement that she opposed Scalias nomination because of his hostility towards workplace protections and his positions on workplace harassment and workers health and safety.

Another one of the repeated middle fingers to us all from Trump. He is consistent in this as far as appointments go. You have to be against any of the benefits your agency is supposed to provide to qualify for his choice. This is ridiculous!
He is handing us over the the Oligarchy as well as opening us to foreign interventions. This man must really hate democracy and the people of this country, underneath it all. It shows when you pay attention to policy and appointments. Then, the MAGAts talk about what a great job he is doing and how they will vote for him again? The cognitive dissonance rings out loud and it hurts my ears now.
WHAT A GOOD LITTLE FREAKING OLIGARCH THIS MAD, TRAITOR IS!

(761 posts)Anything against the working class takes away from their living money. They have no discretionary money. The upper class support the super upper class without any reservations. Okay, the super upper class has no problem supporting laws or actions that limit money going to the working and working poor. That can cause recessions it market crashes. So, if you already own and have most of the wealth what good does it do to squeeze more money rom the lower classes. Plain and simple, causing people to default on loans will cause the economy to collapse. This is the ideal situation for the super upper class. When the market collapses they can go in and buy more at super cheap prices. All the more need for real not apologetic taxes on beyond 10 million dollars. Trump can be the salvation by proving that giving power to wealth is a dreadful losing proposition. People can earn and buy as much as they want but when they choose to quit spending and start hoarding money out of the economy that choice should be taxed.
