It doesn't matter if you want to argue that Trump, or his friends, or other wealthy and powerful people (unknown) did in Epstein. By espousing theories like this with no actual evidence (besides "we all know he would" assertions), you're contributing to an atmosphere where facts and evidence don't matter, and any official statement should be automatically disregarded. Trump thrives in this environment. Your assertion won't change any minds, it'll just reinforce an atmosphere of distrust and conflict, and when more solid evidence emerges, it'll be the more easily disregarded. And Trump will thank you for that.

(7,800 posts)Of this I have little doubt.
The strongest evidence of the Trump collusion with Russia was Trump's incessant "there was no collusion, no collusion" refrain.
The orange creature is constitutionally incapable of telling the truth that many times.
I'm sure he did have Epstein murdered - Barr planning it along with him.

It's no conspiracy theory to look at the facts:
-Epstein died under Barr/DOJ's watch.
-Barr refused to recuse himself from the Esptein case.
-Barr is a longtime GOP fixer/stooge who would do anything to prevent info coming out that could damage Trump/GOP in 2020.
-Trump blaming the Clintons (who have little to do w/Epstein and nothing to gain) is his standard 'projection deflection' Trump does when he's running scared.
-Trump as a private citizen freely chose to socialize with Epstein knowing full well what he was about.
We need a full, thorough and independent investigation; anything else won't quiet speculation from the public (nor should it).

(5,395 posts)Epstein died - Fact with 95% probability of being accurate.
Someone else 'suicided' him. Conjecture, probability of fact unknown.
Barr strangled him personally. Conjecture, probability of fact unknown.
Trump strangled him personally. Conjecture, probability of fact unknown.
Guards were bribed to look the other way. Conjecture, probability of fact unknown.
Clintons killed him. (You got to be joking, right? Not worth reading or repeating, unless you live in cloud coo coo land.)
He is dead, forget him. Look at the evidence before the courts instead. Look for co-conspirators, and those who benefitted.
In defense of the conspiracy theorists though, conspiracy theories always grow in the absence of clear facts.
That is what Trump thrives on. And the GOP looks on and smiles.

(24,412 posts)anybody promoting more Clinton murder conspiracy theories because then we're talking about Hillary again and not Trump. Oddly enough, I'm hearing more of the Clinton conspiracy theories more from people I know whom are more on the left/indy side of the spectrum than those on the right. When I've challenged them, they bring up all of the right-wing Clinton stuff produced in the 1990's. Even pointing out how heavily investigated the Clintons were throughout all of the 1990's and, again in the 2010's and how all of the Clinton "murder" stories were never considered more than a fringe obsession of some on the right, it doesn't seem to matter. Of course, the major problem with all conspiracy theories is that they seem to be self-reinforcing. They're impossible to disprove and the absence of evidence is always attributable to the conspiracy and some mysterious people or forces covering it up so that nobody can get to the proof.

(2,227 posts)And for the record, Clinton and Gore briefed W and Cheney during the transition on the fact that the #1 threat to the US was foreign terrorism.
W promptly "assigned" it to Cheney, who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, KNOWING that was our #1 threat.
PNAC was no conspiracy, it was real.
At the very least LIHOP was their strategy. They just had no clue exactly how bad the attack would be.

(14,173 posts)He reportedly said "I'm fucked" when he heard that the Mueller investigation was on. If Mueller had more balls and said screw it, its too important, I'm going to indict him for at least obstructing justice, and let them fight it out if a sitting President is eligible to be charged or not after that, maybe Donald would be fucked right now.
I hope there is a fair and untainted investigation. Even if its found out that Bill and Hillary along with an exposed "Deep State" secret all powerful sinister DNC controlled organization was behind it, in order to hide Bill's attendence in Jeffery's underage sex parties, and Hillary's child prostitution ring. Now I highly doubt that's what they'll find, and if there was a little suicide "encouragement" going on, I'd lay my bet down it was connected to forces working for the side that had him locked up and was responsible for his well being. The problem is if there could ever be a truly independent investigation.
patphil
(6,173 posts)There will be an investigation, and maybe we will get the truth, or maybe not.
Even in death, the investigation into his dealings with underage girls will continue.
In fact, it will be harder to stop since there is no one to object to it. The victims will seek restitution and Epstein had a lot of wealth.

(12,022 posts)After his defense attorneys asked that he be taken off suicide watch (this part is true), Epstein was replaced by a look-alike dead body, which his brother helpfully identified at the morgue (this part is also true.) And then, having paid everyone off, Epstein flies away a free bird, has plastic surgery, and joins up with Ghislaine at whatever hidden location they've pre-arranged, perhaps some pretty tropical island in Thailand or the Philippines. Everyone else is a few million bucks richer.
Sometimes the plots just write themselves.
Someone should keep a close eye on the future lifestyles of the warden and the guards. If someone buys a Maserati or buys a nice house in Florida, that will be a freaking big tell.

When something smells like bullshit, like the official story, there's no obligation to buy it or take it at face value. Frankly, the burden of proof is on them to not just tell us some convenient story - like Epstein killed himself and it's the fault of some incompetent guards - but to give us proof if they want us to believe it. I'm not holding my breath for an official to give the public any type of proof but as long as it smells the way it does, I'm under no obligation to go along with it. No one is. And without it, all we, including you, have are ascertains to go on. Chastising people for speculating doesn't make the official story any more believable. But tRump thanks you.
