(6,448 posts)None of us were alive during the Civil War, but this may be the worst time in our nation's history. The Civil War wasn't caused by a president's incompetence and ignorance.

(14,187 posts)They are out putting their time in on the streets to have a presence to show the Nazi's that they will not take over the country easily. That what happened in Nazi Germany won't happen here if they the get ahead of it. They are anti Fascism.
Are there a few hotheads, a few very young, a few anarchists that aren't clear on their beliefs, even a few who are prone to escalating to violence? Of course. But please, there are those in any demonstration. The vast majority of AntiFa are there because they believe in defending the country against creeping Nazism, and Fascism. Mostly young, but educated about history. Their mission statement is not to use violence but that they will not back off if Nazi's want to use violence against them.
Brave principled and patriotic young people. They should be commended and supported by Democrats and anyone else that doesn't want to see the rise of a fascist state.
Democrats allow the MSM news to portray these kids standing up to Nazi's as on the same level as a violent white supremacist march.
I'm so sick of that disinformation campaign. Its like Democrats badmouthing the first few groups of the Resistance in Germany in the late 30's. Just stop it.

(13,798 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
