Interdict. What if they risked eternal torment unless they did away with corruption in their governments? What if they remained under Interdict until the Elites started to treat their fellow Catholics like brothers and sisters? Oh yes. There is a thing that the Pope could do that would totally shake up Mexico, Central, and South America. I would like to see it, personally. What do you think?

(3,750 posts)to do: love their neighbors as they love themselves. Abortion is not mentioned in the New Testament. I know it is expecting a lot but Francis has appeared to be open to doing something for the poor and victimized. I just keep hoping.

(58,792 posts)Let's go back to the 16th Century instead of just to the mid 20th or the late 19th like Repubs are trying to do.
How about we stop letting churches of any size dictate legislation. You know, separation of church and state?
I know, this is wishful thinking on your part, but consider all the bad things that might go along with your "good" ideas.
