donations and support? I replied to one just saying "Fuck Off", but they still keep coming.
I have never gone on his website or done anything to make them think I would be the slightest bit interested in his campaign or supporting him in any way.
I am just wondering how they got my email and why they are sending these requests to me. I hate him more than anything.
Has anyone else gotten emails from the Trump campaign?

(7,638 posts)They pay for lists of emails. Many places that you give your emails to may sell those.
Nowadays, campaigns have teams of people (or hire external firms) to datamine all that information. Even the slightest correlation between something you bought and political leanings is exploited. For example, lets assume you shop at a sporting goods store (like cabelas) and purchase ammunitions for your hunting gun or such, (Here I am using the generic *you*, not you in particular), this could be taken as a hint you might vote GOP. Another example, they mine your email from a list of people shopping at say, tractorsupply (I do that often myself since I live in the country on a farmhouse), they may assume you vote gop since its a rural area. etc.etc..

(63,221 posts)lean republican/conservative. I order a lot from Amazon, and a few other specialty clothing/bedding shops, but not much else on line except for food. Someone upthread said that someone conservative who has my email could have signed me up. I think that might be the most likely possibility. Thanks!

(12,344 posts)I get junk calls for someone else because my phone was entered incorrectly into a database years ago. Sometimes I get calls from Democratic politicians for that other person. Since there is only one way they could have tied that name to my phone, I know they bought the junk list. I always tell them to ask for a refund

(86,889 posts)Bernie Sanders. I never voted for him nor have I ever offered any support for him yet I started getting flooded with donation requests as soon as me started mentioning running again. I block all of those kind of emails, report as spam. I'll donate if and when I can, if I support a candidate.

(43,671 posts)sold you info to bulk spammers
replying directly to the sender will almost never work, it just goes to a dead end address
also, if you use the unsubscribe button, it may just add you to more spam lists

(22,199 posts)Because I sent an email on the White House website saying what a lying sack of shit he was. They must have taken it as a compliment.
