I offer you Exhibit A: Rep. Swalwell could not answer this simple question.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Why didn't Hope Hicks testify in an open hearing? He could not answer, he was asked a 2nd time. His response, Ask Nadler. People here wonder why I am Frustrated? Are you kidding me?

Swalwell is on the dam committee, he is running for president, he wants to start the impeachment process now, like many of us do. He could not answer a very simple question. A question I would like to know the answer to.

A few people here attack me because I post about my frustration with The Democrats. What Swalwell did happens far too often with the Democrats. You ask them a question and they cannot answer, they act confused, sometimes they act like they don't know what the hell is going on. Ask them a question about Mueller and watch their response.

I post about my frustration with the Democrats for two reasons. 1. It is a way to blow off steam to people who understand where I am coming from.

2. I believe we are in the most dangerous moment of our lifetimes. Time is short and I believe the Democrats are moving too slowly.
Trump is severely mentally ill and he has no idea what the hell he is doing. I post my frustration as a reminder to everyone here, all is not well. What the Democrats are doing may not be enough.

History is full of examples, where the people make a big mistake and it sets off a chain of events that turns into a raging wild fire. When the people realize their mistake, it is too late to put out the raging fire. It burns everything to the ground.

I believe we are on the brink of one of those moments. I hope I am wrong.

Once again, I do not mind if people here disagree with my posts, That's fine. However if you attack me personally, I will respond.

I would stop posting about my frustration with the Democrats if they would stop frustrating me the way Swalwell did last night.

to the voters. What are our priorities? I fear that our society is mesmerized by the reality show star POTUS. After all who would have ever thought the Kardashians would be so popular?

1 - If there's a reason to hold closed-door hearings... then there's probably a reason not to share with the public many details about why it was closed-door in the first place. House rules probably keep a congressman from discussing the specifics - which makes referring questions to the chairman the right thing to do.

2 - Like it or not, Congress has the ability to see things that you can't see. Power comes from the people... but it is vested in our representatives, not in us directly.

they are fumbling and stumbling and seem to lack a focused and coordinated response to Trump's stonewalling. Now they're going to court? That should have happened when the first Trump official refused to testify. They go weeks between hearings, only to have the person not show up, or show up and not talk. Ridiculous and inept. It you want to alert on me for trashing Dems, alert away, because they fucking deserve it.

You are also correct that we are in an extremely dangerous time, and ever day counts.

Blanket immunity is absurd, but they have to humour each delaying tactic presented to show they are acting in good faith.

It can be slow and frustrating but it is happening. And if the courts rule with us and Trump refuses a direct federal court order, the US Marshalls can then move to arrest. Apparently they’re loyal to the courts, not the DOJ.

testified publicly. He "wished" she would have.

At the end of the segment, however, Swalwell refused to totally join in with the anti-Democratic slugfest and he clearly and forcefully stated that he agreed with the Democratic leadership in that they were being very mindful to follow the rule of law, rather than follow their gut and do what he wished they would do (paraphrasing).

Having lived through Nixon and watched the hearings with John Dean in my 20's, Clinton in my 40's, and now this, I will agree that we are at a very frightening and frustrating point in time. Trump is not mentally competent. But we need to trust those working on this until there's no other legal option.
