Does the data behind the question become unreliable?

(4,533 posts)What matters is whether you answer at all. The count of people is used to allocate electoral votes. If you answer, no matter what you say, you are counted. If the question makes you worry so you dont reply at all you dont get counted. And you are not considered when electoral votes are allocated. Electoral votes are allocated based on the number of residents. The immigration status of a resident has no bearing on the allocation of electoral votes. You can say you are a citizen, an illegal immigrant, or an alien from outer space and you get counted.
