Average presidential approval ratings through this point in term via ABC/Post and Gallup polling:

Kennedy 73%
W Bush 71%
HW Bush 70%
Johnson 69%
Eisenhower 67%
Nixon 58%
Truman 56%
Obama 55%
Reagan 55%
Carter 52%
Clinton 51%
Ford 47%
Trump 38%

bad about the government. Depending on how this shakes out they may be waving at us from outside the razor wire.

But the problem is, these polls aren't just of likely voters - or even registered voters. Many are of 18+ year old Americans regardless if they are registered to vote, have voted or plan to vote.

That's where the discrepancy comes from.

I think Rasmussen is the only one who polls 'likely voters'. But that's a right-wing poll, so, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Among Registered Voters, here's some of Trump's numbers:

HarrisX: 45-55 approve/disapprove
Fox News: 45-51 approve/disapprove
Morning Consult: 45-51 approve/disapprove
Emerson College: 43-49 approve/disapprove

That's over the course of the last few weeks.

The average is much higher among registered voters for Trump. That's the concern, I would wager.
