The process of collecting recall petition signatures has turned heated in many cases across the state, with some hecklers being arrested or ticketed.
A River Falls woman was arrested last month after she spit on a Recall Walker volunteer.
In West Bend, a man was arrested after defacing a petition with a pen.
While incidents in our area haven't escalated to that level, local police have responded to plenty of disturbance calls.

(27,985 posts)It's pretty terrifying:

We had a good mix of thumbs-up and flipping off. We also had one guy get out and give us shit. I have recorded on my phone.
Classy. My favorites were the ones who yelled "Get a job!" to teachers on holiday break, a business owner and me, an IT professional who has had the same job for almost a decade. Oh, and the ones who would shake their heads in 'shame'.

(9,612 posts)Meaning they're really, really frightened that the recall will succeed. Which means....
"Then you win."

(1,435 posts)they should have the required amount by now but are working on the surplus signatures. The 550,000 or so required is only one quarter of votes cast in the 2010 election; when the recall vote happens they will need a little over 1,100,000 to win. The closer they get to that in petition, the better the chance of recall.

(9,612 posts)that if they collect over a million that Walker may resign to avoid the humiliation.
