Hallmark Channel Drops Lori Loughlin Over College Bribery Scandal

The Hallmark Channel cut ties Thursday with favored star Lori Loughlin, a day after her arrest in a college admissions scam put the family-friendly network and extended Hallmark brand in uncomfortable proximity to a headline-grabbing scandal.

“We are saddened by the recent allegations surrounding the college admissions process,” Hallmark Cards Inc., parent company of the Crown Media Family Networks umbrella group that includes the Hallmark Channel, said in a statement.

“We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin” and have stopped development of all productions with the actress for Crown Media channels, the statement said.

The company initially took a wait-and-see approach after a federal investigation of the scam involving more than 30 parents, many of them prominent, was revealed Tuesday. Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying bribes to gain their daughters’ college admissions.

Sephora cuts ties with TV star’s daughter after college cheating scam

VMH’s Sephora beauty chain ended its partnership with Olivia Jade following a massive college cheating scandal involving her celebrity parents who were charged this week in an alleged scheme to help rich Americans get their children into elite universities.

“After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately,” a Sephora spokesperson wrote to Reuters in an email on Thursday.

Olivia Giannulli, the 19-year-old daughter of “Full House” actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, is a social media “influencer” who goes by the name Olivia Jade online.

Products from her makeup collaboration had been removed from Sephora’s website by Thursday afternoon. It was not immediately clear whether her products were available in stores.

the character she's playing. Yes, I like the strong women and the history of the Canadian Frontier back at the turn of the 20th Century.

Elizabeth and Abigail were such good friends.. the writers really have a challenge to write her out of the show.

I cried at the last episode of the last season. I don't want to say more 'cause I don't want to spoiler alert.. just in case anyone wants to see the series.. who hasn't.

I just think it is a bit big for her acting abilities. She's growing into it. Agreed, as to the last episode of the last season.

Even though Elizabeth is the lead, in many ways Abigail is the heart, but the dynamic between the two is central to the show's success.

the daughter is young enough to do something else and move on. But Lori's JOB is acting. It may take a while for her to be accepted again after this. She may do the full apology tour and talk shows and write a book, but her pride and ego are going to be damaged.
