It wasn't about something she said about AIPAC (legitimate). It was what she implied about Jews by suggesting that their money was controlling the government and that one should question their "dual loyalties" (extremely not legitimate).

I don't think this Jeff guy (or those parroting the same thing, including several of our presidential candidates) get it. And that is what implicit racism/homophobia/sexism/anti-Semitism (etc.) is all about. They need to stop conflating legitimate criticism and illegitimate anti-Semitic tropes.

....the comment was worded and the implication in the comment. Plus, it has to be considered in conjunction with several other comments that have been made recently.

Does pour a fortune into our politics. You notice several of our candiates are backing Omar. And there have been quite a few discussions on this.

Disliking Bibi Natanyahu is not the same as being Anti- Semite. People need to understand the difference.

Ever hear of J Street?

You are not getting it. Are people willfully missing the point?

Here’s an example that maybe you can understand:

Imagine that someone says, “Clarence Thomas is the worst member of the Supreme Court.” That’s a legitimate opinion or criticism.

But then the other part of what the person says is, “Typical low IQ.” Now that’s racist, right? Because the trope that black people have low IQs has been used to deprive them of their rights, and sometimes even their lives. It’s racist.

Saying that Netanyahu or AIPAC are bad or wrong is a legitimate criticism. Following it with the suggestion that Jewish money controls the government or that Jews loyalty to America should be questioned is anti-Semitic. Those exact same memes (financial control, and disloyalty) were used to deprive millions of people of their jobs, homes, and possessions and their exportation to death camps.

You can say the first things in both these cases. But you say the second thing, and you are wrong. The second things were said, and they were wrong. Accept it, and do not confuse legitimate criticism with hurtful statements again.

Class dismissed.

You are conflating the AIPAC with all Jews. Surely you don't believe that is what she wanted you to conflate?
I find it a bit offensive that she had to clarify, but she did:

because of skimpy donations. If you have a few bucks to spare, The Smirking Chimp is a good site and worthy of support.
