The first indictment, under seal.a.k.a. multiple, PUBLIC tweets proving Trump "obstruction of justice"
Nearly five months after the special counsel officially began his work, Mueller filed his first charge, accusing the foreign policy advisor to Trump's campaign of lying to the FBI. According to Mueller, Papadopolous told an Australian diplomat in 2016 that Russia had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton months before the Democratic candidate's internal campaign emails started leaking online.
As part of his plea deal with Mueller, Papadopoulos admitted that he discussed his Russia contacts with top campaign officials, including a possible meeting between candidate Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

(42,714 posts)First, Mueller isn't going to seek an indictment of a sitting president. You can take that to the bank. Whether or not there is a constitutional bar against him doing so isn't the issue. He simply will not test those waters.
Second, whether Trump is prosecuted for anything will depend on whether Mueller's investigation produces evidence that prosecutors conclude is sufficient to make a case against Trump of a criminal violation. The views of armchair quarterbacks who don't have access to the information that Mueller has are, IMO, worthless clickbait.

(22,037 posts)The reports that Mr. Mueller is wrapping up his investigation fall into the same category of worthless clickbait you referenced.
There are still principals in this story who have not been interviewed by Mueller's investigators. Why in the world would Junior, Jared and others not be interviewed? They were intimately involved in many of the the Trump campaign's activities including the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting. To think that Mueller would just ignore those witnesses/participants is silly and for Mueller that would be a dereliction of duty.
There is much more going on that the public-- and the media-- don't know about. This is far from "nearly over."
And your first pint is dead-on. Mueller is a product of the DOJ and he's not going off the ranch.
