1.) He's just stupid.
2.) Chumpy/putin has something on him.
3.) He wants something from Chumpy.
Those are the only choices I can think of to explain this cretin.

(46,484 posts)Graham was livid that Trump revealed his cell # during the primaries. Trump insulted repeatedly Graham's BFF, John McCain.
No way Graham would forgive and forget.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(116,280 posts)Whatever we might think of Graham, he's clearly not stupid. IIRC, he did a complete 180 on Trump, whom he had previously derided in no uncertain terms, after a golf game in 2017. During that leisurely stroll on the golf course did Trump offer him something - a Cabinet position, perhaps - if he "behaved"? But the most suitable position for him, that of AG, was just filled by someone else. Maybe Trump's running mate in 2020? There's no good reason to keep Pence, who has all the charisma of a gaffed carp; maybe Trump wants someone a little more rabid.
The more sinister possibility is that Trump has some kompromat of his own. Or the Russians do, and Trump was just passing it along. And if so, it's likely to be something much more damaging to him than just dragging him out of the closet. I hope we find out eventually.

brush
(54,159 posts)on demand to those who he feels are more powerful than him. When McCain was alive he sided with him quite often in opposing trump.
Now McCain is gone and suddenly he's a trump toady.
Like I said, there's not much substance to his stances.

(1,613 posts)if anything happens to Dotard and he's unable to run in 2020. In my mind there's not another 'establishment' GOPer better positioned to soak up the Trump bloc.
That being said I defer to Occam's razor on this -- Lindsey's compromised and has been blackmailed.
