What deadline did Akin miss yesterday?

I was under the impression that yesterday was the deadline for Missouri to put another name on the ballot. My coworker tells me that Good Morning America (Yeesh) said today that the deadline was September 25.

but I doubt that would get very far. The whole thing depends on Akin being persuaded to "voluntarily resign". If he does that, I expect any court would grant the order. Moreover, there isn't much upside to Dems for getting in the middle of that. If the GOP goes that direction, they are probably pretty screwed anyway, give the closeness to the election.

Seems to be a moot point. If Akin was going to pull out, the time was yesterday.

And he's a Teabagger, right? Teabaggers don't like taking orders from the "old money" wing of the GOP, but I guess every man has his price.
