I would say "her" own war, but never has been a major concern yet.

(5,957 posts)If that's what they're doing, that's EXACTLY what it is. Bolton taking a play right out of the neocon playbook. They should sue the little shit for infringement of copyright.

It's like car chases in the Fast and The Furious movie franchise. You always know what you're going to get.

(5,957 posts)Republicans love to idolize Reagan. So, why not repeat Reagan's Grenada invasion strategy.
Reagan decided to invade Grenada TWO DAYS after the barracks bombing in Beirut, in order to divert public attention away from a foreign policy failure.
In 1983, Reagan sent U.S. Marines to Lebanon to try and stop a civil war. Hezbollah drove a car bomb into the Marine barracks on October 23rd 1983, and killed 241 Marines. It was a humiliating failure for Reagan's strategy.
Two days later, Reagan diverted a troop ship that was en route to Lebanon, and had them invade Grenada (operation 'Urgent Fury'), ostensibly to stop a communist take over; and ostensibly to rescue a dozen half-wit U.S. medical students who were studying at the 'El Doctoro' medical school that's run for students who are too dumb to get into a real medical school.
Suddenly nobody was talking about Reagan's failure in Lebanon.
Can we see a pattern here?

(10,917 posts)...I doubt we have any plans for a invasion.
However if the country completely falls apart and Maduro flees having some US troops pre positioned in the area to deliver humanitarian aid is a good idea.
We did just send a US naval hospital ship next door to treat Venz. refugees, also a good idea.
