i just can't see who is going to vote for him . how is he a threat ? who are his voters ?
i could understand if it was someone like Steve Jobs who had a certain public appeal and following that it could make a difference.
but i just find it hard to worry about the starbucks guy.

(11,212 posts)Trump owes his election to a hand full of votes in a hand full of counties.
It doesn't take much to foul an election.

(11,598 posts)Where most people think they know whats going on but really arent paying attention at all.
What about someone who loves starbucks? Who has always liked him from there? Someone who thinks here is a businessman who didnt file bankruptcy.
Personally though I turned the tv on in the middle of his talking didnt recognize him at first and thought it was a Republican talking.
In the smaller states he wouldnt have to take many votes to threaten the dem candidate.
JI7
(89,343 posts)likely to vote republican will vote for him.

(11,598 posts)And believes in mostly democrat positions. The only republican I could see voting for him would be young pro choice ones. How many of them actually vote?

(11,598 posts)But the point is we have a ton of people that vote on a damn whim. Who ever feels good to them for whatever reason.

(10,721 posts)More than likely, he won't do any better than the typical 3rd party candidate.

(15,683 posts)the Republican? Deep inside most of us know that "Independents" are seldom actually working for liberal values.
They run as Democrats-but-better. Whether it's true or not it is the Democratic nominee who always loses more votes to them.

(10,721 posts)And then 2012. And then 2008. And then 2004. And, well, every presidential election.
I don't know where you got the idea that 3rd party candidates only hurt the Democratic nominee.

We don't know who the Democratic candidate will be yet, but will ANY of them inspire defection to a throwaway vote for a third party, knowing the stakes? Jill Stein got a whopping 1% of the vote in 2016, despite some Democrats dislike of Clinton. I think we learned our lesson in 2000.

(5,979 posts)He invented the small means tall scam. Go into starbucks, ask for a small coffee. You will receive and be charged for a "tall" . The ACTUAL small is called "short," is not on the menu, nor are the baristas allowed to mention it unless you say the magic code word "short" and it is the cheaper option. Total scam.
Do not trust this man.

(102,850 posts)introduce "pour over" as an alternative. I think a lot of people will not drink that, which is their default brew. I will say it is slightly better iced as a latte, but only if you have some to get rid of (as I did).
