"SNIP....
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) showed that she could draw a crowd to a rally as more than 20,000 showed up to her campaign kickoff event.
MSNBC reported from the scene, I have covered a lot of these campaign kickoffs. This one looked really strong. The outpouring support of the hometown of Kamala Harris was extraordinary. 20,000 people, as you said, was the estimate by the county of how many people were actually in the perimeter. Outside the perimeter, the roads were lined with people they were just all over the place, blocks and blocks away, they couldnt even see her and yet they came out from this big rally. From a crowd perspective, it was really, really strong.
.....SNIP"

(5,260 posts)I was hoping that there would be strong, strong enthusiasm for her at the start. It appears that's not an issue. And now we have this CNN "town hall" tomorrow. Looks like a pretty solid kickoff, assuming of course that she performs well at the event.

(31,261 posts)If she does well in Iowa and New Hampshire, my guess is it is curtains for everyone else, because the race from that point plays to her strong advantages of more diverse voting bases in large states that produce lots of delegates.

(4,516 posts)And sounds good to me. The faster we move past a divisive primary, the better. Fighting into April definitely didn't help last time out . . . .

(10,129 posts)Since they totally freaked out about candidate Obama i can't imagine what BS she will have to face. Of course that would be their plan regardless of who the nominee eventually is.

(45,829 posts)her birth certificate is fake, she doesn't have American values or loyalty to this country, the usual nonsense.

(119,275 posts)Beware of right wing trolls. Harris is pretty likeable to the left I would think. But some of her opponents will no doubt foment some hate of her too.

(51,775 posts)since the GOP is the party of racist misogynists. I know you have to be tough to go into politics and I could never take a single day of the GOP and RW media attacks on a constant, unrelenting basis. I hate to see it happen again and again. This country is so ass backwards still.

(12,448 posts)Damn, she's good. I think she's the real deal. I won't make up my mind until we hear from all the candidates including debates, but Kamala is really strong.
