it's up to one Senator to cave, Mitch. Mitch has gotten lots of rubles which may be incentive not to cave.

There are enough votes right now in the Senate to reopen the government but Mitch is the gate keeper.

That's why I said I liked what AOC and some of her cohorts were doing when they searched for Mitch. They were putting pressure on him.

I also watched Mazie Hirono speak out strongly against McConnell, that's where Democrats should be focusing.

17. At this point, I am reluctant to get my hopes up. We've been through the letdown

of getting our hopes up that this is the time things will come together to make his term end. And then....nothing happens. But, I admit that it feels different this time. It feels like something has shifted and that there is nothing tRump can do about it. Doesn’t mean he won’t try and that is scary. A cornered rat is unpredictable.

So I am hoping that you are right and that over the next three days enough of the Republicans cannot keep playing along with tRump. If they have even a single shred of decency left they will side with Democrats to bring this nightmare to a halt. But then we’re faced with a Pence presidency. Ugh....my hope is that Pence is in it up to his eyeballs so that he has to go, too. Gonna be a time of upheaval and lots of angst for the tRump supporters. But those of us who despise tRump have had a rough 2+ years......so, I have no problem letting them stew for a while.
