Timothy OBrien: Trump, in reality, was never a peerless or even a particularly skillful dealmaker, and many of the most significant business transactions he engineered imploded. Instead, he made his way in the world as an indefatigable self-promoter, a marketing confection and a human billboard who frequently licensed his name to buildings and products paid for by others.
In Trumps professional life, his inept dealmaking often came home to roost in unmanageable debts and serial bankruptcies. In his more recent political and presidential life it has revealed itself through bungled, hapless efforts to overturn the Affordable Care Act; forge a nuclear agreement with North Korea; wage trade wars with China, Mexico and Canada; retain control of the House of Representatives; turn military and diplomatic strategy on its head; lay siege to sensible immigration policy; and, now, force a government shutdown to secure funding for a prized project a wall along the U.S.s southern border.

(45,053 posts)Hes just doing the crazy. Throwing tantrums. Taking hostages. Thats no way to get what you want. Im so glad reasonable people on the Democratic side arent giving his infantile antics any reward. Its his mess. Its a republican mess. They need to wise up and realize they dont have clout in this negotiation. They need to surrender and open our government back up. Now.

(22,297 posts)almost to the point that he's too stupid to do any spying or worse for the Russians or Chinese...
But what really gets me going, is how reckless and careless the republicans in the House Of Representatives and US Senate have been acting, in allowing rump to continue with his crazy as a bat routine. Come on now, this is the president of the US we're talking about here. What does it take? Oh, he's just fooling around...Oh, he's just kidding...etc. By the time the idiots in the cabinet and Senate/House of Rep realize what's going on, it'll be almost too late.
All traitors. They failed miserably at doing their job, and they need to be seriously called for it and punished. I'm serious. This people deliberately failed to remove the illegally elected, so called president / crazy person in the WH as they are supposed to do under the constitution and thereby, are traitors to the US and the constitution of the United States, solely on their inability to perform their clearly marked out duties as listed in the constitution.
I'd like to hear what the idiots such as like Rush L. and Ann C., etc., have to say about rump, if and when (it's just a matter of time before it happens) when rump throws members of the media and/or democratic party into jail for so called 'traitorous' actions. Will they continue to be the mouthpiece of rump, even when they see rump making attempts to stifle other representatives of the press/media, simply because they 'said something negative (in rumps' mind)' or they belonged to a 'rogue' entity?
This is no longer a matter up for debate and analysis. What will happen if he orders an attack or worse on someone? I'm almost expecting that he is going to declare all media personnel and democrats traitors and that we should be in camps or worse, and our assets seized.

(22,292 posts)Good or bad. Think about it--how many news stories are about something other than him or his antics these days? I still think his craziness would tone down if it wasn't covered 24/7.

BY GRAHAM LANKTREE ON 11/29/17 AT 10:27 AM
The man who ghost-wrote President Donald Trumps best-seller The Art of the Deal has claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin owns Trump, and he said he hopes the U.S. president will be taken down by special counsel Robert Mueller.
What keeps my hope alive is the deep, abiding belief that Mueller has got Trump dead to right, including his collusion with Russia. All signs suggest to me that Putin owns Trump, and it's going to come out, author Tony Schwartz tweeted Tuesday.
Schwartz has been a vocal critic of Trump since he began speaking out against him during the 2016 election, warning in an interview with The New Yorker that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.
Schwartz said he feels a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is through the book published 30 years ago.
