Poll: 68 percent of Americans support a national health plan

— There's significant support for a national health care plan, according to a new POLITICO/Harvard poll that found 68 percent of respondents were in favor of an idea like Medicare for All.

1. We have many: Global warming. Rising authoritarianism

and white nationalism. Huge emergency, such as global pandemic, during incompetent Trump presidency.

I think I'd put the second first, even before global warming, because if the Republicans take back control of government in 2020 they will appoint more archconservative extremists to SCOTUS and take further steps to replace democracy with authoritarian government by a wealthy ruling class, and with it of course destroy all hopes for universal healthcare and Social Security, protections for equality, citizens' rights to control of their bodies, etc., and undo existing climate controls. And much else.

Frankly, imo, to believe universal healthcare is our big emergency is to fail to see the huge existential crisis it is merely a small part of. Neither fascists nor hard-core "liberatarians" believe in providing expensive healthcare to people who who cannot be productive workers. We MUST stop what's happening on the right.
