Trump uses federal funds to bypass the shutdown and open federal property connected to his hotel

While many federal employees are furloughed or out of work, one agency found funds to keep the Old Post Office Tower at the Trump International Hotel in DC open during the government shutdown.

E&E News reported Wednesday that the General Service Administration — an agency established to keep federal functions running — ponied up to fund National Park Service sites.

The Old Post Office Tower, located on the same property as the controversial Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., will benefit from the GSA’s funding.

The Daily Mail noted that the GSA is the agency that granted Trump the lease at the property to operate the hotel.
