Trump AG pick sent DOJ 20-page memo warning against investigating Trump for obstruction of justice

President Donald Trump’s nominee to be Attorney General sent the Department of Justice a 20-page, unsolicited memo warning against investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday evening.

William Barr said special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into obstruction of justice was based on a “fatally misconceived” theory.

The June 8 memo was sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing the Mueller probe.

“As I understand it, his theory is premised on a novel and legally insupportable reading of the law,” Barr wrote. “Moreover, in my view, if credited by the Justice Department, it would have grave consequences far beyond the immediate confines of this case and would do lasting damage to the Presidency and to the administration of law within the Executive branch.”

Gee, I wonder if this had anything to do with Barr getting appointed?

What did Trump promise him if he works to get Trump off the hook?

How would Barr know that as an outsider on June 8th?

Almost no one knows what Mueller is thinking. That is still the case on obstruction of justice in the public domain.

One of the three articles of impeachment that was approved against Nixon was for obstruction of justice. There are good grounds in this case to investigate that. It is only after it has been investigated and the evidence gathered that one determines whether one should proceed. We don't know if Mueller has finished what he looking into there.

Something really smells here - for Barr, an outsider, to weigh in on this last June ????

then I guess I'm for lasting damage and "grave consequences." The fact we're even having this conversation is
nuts.

Is Barr attempting to obstruct justice? At the least, it appears to be an attempt by Trump to obstruct justice and therefore amounts to a conspiracy with Barr to obstruct justice.

It's not nice to interfere with an ongoing, legal investigation of possible criminal activity.
