Bill Clinton. I have always felt that he is obsessed with Bill Clinton. He forgets how peple tie him to the death of an intern. So, the same kind of entanglement he is creating about Clinton can be passed to him with a question about did he really have something to do with the death of an intern.

(11,001 posts)himself in something so salacious. He is aware that if he evens breathes out of the wrong nostril, the press will find out and be happy to report it. Little is being said about Ken Starr being one of Epstein's lawyers.

(3,428 posts)wasnt he a fool to have an affair with an intern, in a room next to the Oval Office? And then, wouldnt he have been even more foolish to lie about it?

(59,503 posts)Like another poster, I would simply argue that there are no accusations against Clinton. Given that his name comes up within no more than 10 posts on every Epstein thread, he might be the person to benefit the most from a serious investigation that continues not to connect him with any charges.
There is a HUGE difference between Epstein being a major Democratic donor and Democrats being involved in this. I hope no Democrats helped him eveade a longer prison term. (Something Clinton, an ex President had no power to do.)
As to why this is out again -- it is because Trump was poised to nominate the man who gave him a sweetheart deal. The reason Clinton is mentioned is that it is part of a distorted "even handedness". The fact is there are not even credible accusations against Clinton while it is 100% fact that Epstein was given an incredibly light sentence in his deal.

(59,503 posts)I wish Clinton's name was not invoked, but it has been. I also think that it resonates due to the perception that he had multiple affairs. However, THERE WAS NEVER A HINT OF CLINTON BEING ACCUSED OF ANY UNDERAGE ACTION. Nor, are there (to my knowlege) any claims that he did anything.
I do have a different reaction. If there were no Democrats involved, DU would be demanding that this entire sleasy mess be investigated. It is very possible that powerful men abused powerless women, some of whom were children at the time. This is far beyond "me too" - not to diminish that. This includes a real pedeophile ring run for powerful men and Epstein was, to a very real extent, protected by other powerful men. No way should we stay silent because Republicans will shout out "Clinton". I do not think the smears against are true. This would mean an investigation would counter (but we all know no smear "ends" the whisphered lie.
I think we need to stand by our values and declare this wrong and demand that a deep investigation be done. It might not be a legal investigation because Epstein himself has already been tried, convicted and imprisioned.

Epstein would have benefitted in a variety of ways, just by having celebrity there

(6,854 posts)It was my biggest worry for the 2016 election. However sleazy his relationship with Epstein, so far, no woman and definitely NO CHILD, has come forward to say that she had sex with Clinton at any Epstein property. So, either the victims are terrified to come forward, or there are no victims. No allegations, though, has to mean no allegations, or at least that was the case before Ken Starr. (I find it hard to believe that anyone brave enough to out Prince Andrew, would not be equally brave enough to out Bill Clinton).

(6,854 posts)I know nothing about Clinton and Epstein, and since there has been no accusation, it should be a complete non-story. Instead, because Bill Clinton is involved, someone like Joe Scarborough feels free to throw him in the mud without any evidence. And of course, Hillary gets the blame for not "controlling" her husband. Just playing to the RW, and I am wrapped up in it, even as a supporter of both Clintons.

Then added a statement from the WH that Thump and Epstein had "no relationship".

(24,122 posts)with EpSTAIN. This whole ugly mess SHOULD be thoroughly investigated, regardless of who is implicated along with The Dotard. People should not turn a blind eye to child abuse and rape, under ANY circumstances... I don't care who was involved.

(4,461 posts)... Bill Clinton had any association with Epstein at all. Good president - who sometimes showed poor judgment.
