Matryoshka or "nesting" dolls. Each hollow Matryoshka doll comes apart at the waist to reveal another similar but slightly smaller doll nested inside it. And that doll also comes apart to reveal another doll, and so on and so on.

Kinda like the Russian investigation where each new development exposes yet more potential crimes and criminals.
