They want to call Cohen a liar while they legitimize Trumpy's lies. It's truly a semantic circus.
But the overwhelming logic of the situation is that Mueller knew of the JDA all along, and watched how the information flowed from Manafort to Trumpy. What Mueller did was plant misinformation so that Manafort would pass the same misinformation to Trumpy. That misinformation would be conveyed back to Mueller when Trumpy answered those questions IN WRITING. THAT is one of the many ways that Trumpy's crimes are being manufactured-- by Trumpy himself. Career criminals typically have an overriding sense of hubris that exposes them as ripe for prosecution.
Trumpy is just a tortured human being who traffics in evil actions against his fellow humans for his own perceived benefit. He's nothing more. And the entire GOP leadership are all on board with Trumpy because they, too, have committed themselves to Trumpy's corrupt leadership. They are awash in Russian money and will always fail to contain Trumpy because they, too, have a price on their own heads. The GOP leadership, including McConnell and Ryan, Nunez and Chaffetz, will all be in Court soon on RICO charges, for a start. This will get very ugly. And when it does, those of us who continue to be outraged will finally get some relief.
